I Hear You
Did you know I listened
When you didn't speak
And heard the silent words you said
When your eyes were dull and weak
In silver strings like spider webs
In clumps and corners like dust
You told me all I didn't need to know
And everything I must
You told me what you yearned for
And of what you are afraid
You told me how you hated yourself
And how you were remade
In little blinks and tiny touches
In the movements of your eyes
I heard everything you didn't say
When you put on that disguise
But you can't hide from me
Like you think you must
I will always know you
Beyond those whom you trust
So if you're feeling fragile
Just look at me my dear
I heard every word you said already
Even the ones you didn't hear.
