The City
The bright flashes illuminate spaces
From day to night in the harrowing heights.
Turning to darkness makes your mind take flight.
Rush of movement reveals weary faces,
Emotions try to keep with their paces.
The invitations sent by colored lights,
Welcoming the guests who search for delights,
It's unlike sights seen in other places.
Day and night don’t matter in the city.
A short length of time here is all it takes
To accept your invitation which creeps
Into your mind, happening so quickly.
The city never wakes,
And you are what the city keeps.
