Colors
In my element, I am sunshine yellow.
A cheery, welcoming ray
A warm, reassuring embrace
A confident, sure presence
Positive and beaming
Friendly and brilliant
Once removed, I am pale blue.
A lonely, cloudless sky
A sad drop of rain
A quiet invisible presence
Shy and insecure
Weak and submissive
I suppose their green mixture often results,
when yellow and blue play together.
A presence not too confident but not too quiet
A presence not too sure but not too invisible.
Green is not too cheery and not too sad.
Green is not lonely amongst crisp blades of grass.
Although, what does it matter what I say I am?
My mom says I’m citrus orange.
My dad says I’m baby pink.
My sister says I’m royal purple.
My friends say I’m spunky magenta.
My boyfriend says I’m deep red…
Are we all not canvases stained by splashes of all the colors we possess?
Even the ones our own eyes can’t see?
