Jack hates
Jack scorns
Jack complains

Jack judges girls
In 360 degrees.

She says what’s on her mind,
Speaks from her heart,
Shouts on the rooftops
She is too opinionated, overwhelming, loud

(so...)
She is quiet, reserved,
Perceptive, reflective
Prefers to listen, not speak
She is meek, weak minded, mild

(so...)
She is strong
Intelligent bold, confident
And unafraid to take charge
She is bossy and overbearing

(so...)
She heeds instruction
A happy helper, a follower
Loyal and faithful, without question
She is dim and spineless

She is round
Dynamically curved
An hourglass filled with sand
Jack tells her she must lose weight

(so...)
She is lean
Collarbones poking out
Tummy tucked beneath her chest
Jack calls her anorexic

She is a work of art
Eyes and lips painted
Butterfly wing eyelashes
Jack says she is fake: should wash her face

(so…)

She is natural
Flower petal fresh cheeks
Purple and red and peach in her skin
Jack says she looks tired and ill: should put in more effort

---

She will never be enough
She will always be too much
She will never be what Jack wants.

But who needs Jack
When Jill’s expectations aren’t so hypercritical.
