Everytime we’re alone
His text alerts ground me
Remind me not to float away
I’m not his
The unfortunate audience for each morning
Watching a stranger sneak out
Passing winks in class
Not mine
Movie night and me tossing a sweater off my seat
He laughs and shrugs
Meaningless
Maybe
A tispy comment or tired hug
Rare touch, single again
On nights he doesn't take someone home
He is here, asleep on the couch
Someday
First kiss as a dare
Back to middle school between shots
Clumsy hands and nervous contact
Stone cold sober
Sooner, closer
