These I Can’t Promise (These I Can Promise Response Poem)
I can’t promise you endless fits of Balenciaga
I can’t promise you Gucci or Prada
I can’t promise you pools of champagne or a sea of diamonds
I can’t promise you strawberry covered lips on a private island
I can’t promise you dry eyes and few stacks of pillows
I can’t promise you promises carved in willows
I can’t promise you kisses at midnight
I can’t promise you whispers by moonlight
I can’t promise you the one thing you do dream of
I can’t promise you my love
