Mystery Man
Walking down the hall to my locker
Opening it, looking for my math book
Giggling when I look
Another note from him.
Him, the guy who writes to me
I don’t know who he is
His words are beautiful and charming
But he signs his letters
Anonymous
I wish I could find out for myself
Who the mystery man truly is
But somehow he evades my senses
Though it seems I never evade his.
He writes as if he knows me
How I love horses and hate cats
How I draw almost constantly
And how my socks never match
I wonder, who is he?
I hope it’s not a prank
Because I am falling for him quickly
I hope this isn’t a mistake.
The more I wonder about him
The more I really want to know
If he’s really as charming as he seems
Or if it’s all just a show.
And for that reason also
I never want us to meet
I want to keep on dreaming
Even if my feelings are never complete.
