The trait in you I can see
The reason she bestows
The gift of Immortality to thee:
To a wild rose.
This is the truth that She knows
The truth beneath the rose
She sees the sunlight glows
Of a wild rose.
To you she gives the power
To see the truth you chose
She gives it to a humble flower
For a wild rose.
She gives you a partner and friend
Someone to share all your woes
She will be there till the end
With a wild rose.
The truth she always knows
The truth beneath the rose
She sees you watch the river flows
Sees a wild rose.
She and you are the same
With you she always goes
The rose, protector of the unknown dame
Cherishes a wild rose.

I wrote this after I played a duet on my saxophone called "To a Wild Rose." I hope I don't get sued for useing the title, but it was a beautiful song and it fits.
