Night falls over the sky,
Darkness surrounds my room.
I wait for you to come home,
I should be in bed,
But I miss you.

Going to sleep isn’t the same without you tucking me in.
I hear you walking into the house,
Fresh cold air surrounds me when your arms embrace me
Goosebumps melt into relief, Sleep seeps into my eyes.
Drift me back to bed again,
Rock me to sleep with your sweet lullabies.
Slowly my dreams fill every corner with imagination,
Imagination dances into my daydreams.
One night my carefree will dissipate, letting imagination run rapid,
Imagination will toy with reality.

It’ll take peaceful sleep into a terror that rips away innocence.
Waking up to a broken world,
Torn to pieces,
Away from your embracing arms.
