Broken
Your heart is not what I saw it to be.
Your figure does not change who you are.
Your smile could change someone’s day.
Your laugh could warm a heart.
Your strength could save a soul.
Your intelligence could get you somewhere in life.
Your brain could get you to an expensive college.
If you opened your heart,
It could change the way someone looked at you.
It could change the way you looked at someone else.
It could change the desire to love someone.
It could change your smile.
It could change your figure.
Most importantly, it could change you.
If you look in front of you,
You might see a girl
You might see a strong heart willing to open up
You might see an intelligent girl
You might see an athletic girl
You might see a lover girl.
Through your eyes I see
A man wanting to escape from a shell
A man wanting to open up to the world
A man wanting to see light again
A man wanting to see a better future ahead.
Wait, did you hear that?
That was me typing, about all the things that you might do or see or
Think about doing.
But I think that you are not going to realize any of this
Until you actually do screw up.
