The Last Stop
My salvation came in the form of the last bus home in the pouring rain.
I had a panic attack today
I had just gotten off the wrong bus to nowhere
it was ten at night
it was cold enough to be snowing
my phone was dead
I hadn't eaten since 1
and I had one wrinkled dollar left in my wallet
I was going over all the different things I could've done
to avoid this situation
and kicking myself for not being more prepared
or more responsible
or whatever
then
a divine slap across my frost bitten face
and this is the part I'm almost embarrassed to share
because its just so cheesy
but what the hell
I like cheese
Life is a series of missed connections
And endless bus rides
You need to enjoy it
No matter how tedious or nerve-wracking
Take solace in knowing
That you don't have to drive in traffic
