I in room 2, you in room 3
Because when you put it together that was the amount of times my heart fluttered
23 on the day we met
23 when we first held hands
23 times we call a day
23 and so much more

And even though there were two doors and a wall that separated us,
We could sleep through the teacher’s deep slow voice
Dreaming that we had dreamt the same dream
Of sailing away on our yacht named Summer

Pearl bracelet adorning my right hand,
Gold watch wrapping your left hand
Things we could never have on land.

We’ll use all those crazy pick-up lines cause for us they’re 100% true
Like “Do your feet hurt? because you’ve been running around my mind all day”
And “if I could rearrange the alphabet I’d put you and I together”
Because I’d truly turn the whole world upside down just to be with you
Is what you once said to me
Another 23

Some say spouses are enemies in a past life
So when we fight I’ll take it as hate left over
Since hate and love live on the same reckless edge
And leftovers can always be washed away
Like dried up crumbs on last night's dinner plate

I wont mind the morning bird waking me up at 5
I’m just 3 hours closer to being held by you
You the curtains, covering me the sheers
Because together we block out the rest of the Sea

Even though we fight civil wars of freedom
This is one war I’ll always lose to you
I’d be a slave of love
For the 23 times you say my name

After months out sea
We’ll wake back up in history class
I in room 2, you in room 3
