Shelves Filled with Stories
I fill my shelves with stories,
To bury my mind,
To build my walls up,
To safely hide behind.
I use the walls around me,
To keep the whole world blind,
I fill my shelves with stories,
To bury my mind.
I read page after page,
Many adventures I find
To build my walls up,
To safely hide behind.
Books help keep the real me,
From being underlined,
I fill my shelves with stories,
To bury my mind.
Rows of books surround me,
All one of a kind,
To build my walls up,
To safely hide behind.
Before the pages around me,
To reality I was confined,
I fill my shelves with stories,
To bury my mind.
It was not the life I wanted,
But to it I was resigned,
Until I built my walls up,
And used them to hide behind.
I'm still trying to run from,
The me I left behind,
So I'll fill my shelves with stories,
And keep burying my mind.
