&quot; What need is there to weep over parts of life? The whole of it calls for tears.&quot; -Seneca<br /> &quot; What is in the way becomes the way&quot; - Marcus Aurelius

I want to dip my hand
In the canals of Amsterdam
To see the ripples I create float
Across the nigh cooled
molten silver like water.
To feel the water’s current run through
The spaces of my fingers.
I need my mind to fall in that water
that’s like lukewarm mercury
so that it may be healed.

I enjoyed the simplicity of your poem. Yet underneath that simplicity is an emotional need for nature to heal the human void that nothing else can fulfill.
