Proud
Have you ever felt so proud of yourself
to the point where you can hardly contain your excitement
and all you want to do
is scream it from every rooftop that you can possibly climb to?
I have felt that so many times
and it took me so many years to realize
that you feel this way
because no one else will be proud of you.
You are forced to be proud of yourself
and to feel this light and airy feeling in your heart
because no one will wrap you in their arms
and tell you how proud they are.
I thought people were proud of me
until I made this discovery.
I thought everyone was truly happy for me
but they just walked on with their lives.
I am proud of so many people
all of the time I love to be happy for them
and love the vibrations radiating off of them
I feel their joy
I feel everything that they feel
and I know that they don’t have to feel that alone.
So why is that I
work so hard to be the only one proud?
What can you achieve
if no one else wants you to achieve it?
