Old and Young love
We were young, stupid, and in love.
Nervous kisses.
Sweaty hands.
Shy smiles.
Romantic talks,
And long walks.
There were always stories to tell,
Things to share.
We had spontaneous ideas.
And longed for our future.
We want to spend forever, together.
Old love
We are old, wise, and in love.
Wrinkled faces.
Canes or wheelchairs,
Nothing can separate us.
We can hardly see,
And our grandchildren sit on our knee.
We’ve run out of stories to tell,
And things to share.
We hardly leave home,
And we’re losing our hair.
We’ve been together forever.
